As Per the notification release by NTA, JEE Main 2020 admit card dates will be announced by NTA on the official website after April 15, 2020 due to the corona virus epidemic.

According to the latest media coverage JEE Main 2020 April exam is to be  postponed due to COVID-19 until last week of May concerning the total Shutdown Announced and considering the safety of the student. HRD Minister – Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank shared the news via a tweet on March 27 read the twitter notification below.

They had earlier scheduled for April 5, 7, 9 and 11. But The Ministry has cancelled all the entrance exams until March 31 to avoid any clash of exams on a particular date and to Avoid Public Gathering and support safety.

What is JEE Main?

 

JEE Main say – Joint Entrance Exam Main. It is a very popular entrance test conducted by NTA to offer admission to various courses like  BE/BTech, BPlan and BArch for admission in  IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology) and NITs (National Institute of Technology) across the country.

JEE Main is one of the very popular national level entrance tests in India for admissions to the undergraduate engineering, architecture, and planning programs offered by:

  • 31 – National Institutes of Technology
  • 25 –  Indian Institutes of Information Technology
  • 28 – Government Funded Technical Institutes.

National Testing Agency started conduction JEE Main from the last year. It is conducted twice a year – January and April where the best of the two scores are taken into consideration.

Previously there was only one exam conducted throughout a for admission in various engineering colleges. Taking congestion of candidates the authority has decided to conduct JEE Twice a year.

JEE Main 2020 is the first screening test for nearly 2.5 lakh students who have qualified to appear for the JEE Advanced for admissions to the seats in 23 IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology).

The counseling cum seat allotment for all the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will be organized and managed by the JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). In 2019, 107 institutes participated in JOSAA Counselling.

NTA has published JEE Main 2020 syllabus for Paper 1, 2, and 3 in online mode on its official website. This year, the authority has separated BPlan from BArch. This syllabus will help candidates to plan their strategies accordingly.

JEE Main 2020 Important changes

JEE Main April 2020 exam postponed there is no exact date for jee main exam. Candidates should start their prepration and continue it.

  • NTA Authorities have announced an important point for JEE Main 2020 registration. Candidates who have registered for January but not appeared for the exam will be able to only apply as a fresh candidate in Jee Main April Session. Such candidates cannot use their JEE Main January credentials even though they have paid the exam fee but have not appeared in the exam

 

  • JEE Main application process 2020 has gone through some major changes.Firstly the application fee has been hiked. The offline payment mode (E-challan) has been removed from this year. Candidates applying for April session have to upload their class 12 marksheet/ admit card.

  • JEE Main Paper 2 is now separate for B.Arch and B.Plan aspirants. B.Plan students have to answer questions on planning while B.Arch students have a drawing test (pen and paper based). Maths and aptitude are common for both B.Plan and B.Arch candidates. The total marks have increased to 400 for Paper 2 from 380 marks in the past years.

  • JEE Main 2020 exam centres have been reduced to 233 from 264 in 2019.

  • JEE Main Exam Pattern 2020 has been revised with major changes in the number of questions and marking scheme. In JEE Main Paper 1, candidates have to answer only 75 questions (25 each from Physics, Chemistry and Maths) including five numerical questions per section which do not carry negative marking. The total marks  for JEE Main Paper 1 in 2020  is 300 while they were 360 earlier.

  • NTA has set up a dedicated JEE Main Query Redressal System (QRS), to answer queries/grievances by candidates.

  • Candidates can use the 1.5 lakh Customer Service Centres to apply, download their admit card or result of JEE Main in case they have no access to internet.

  • B.Plan candiates have new eligibility criteria – Candidates from any stream who have studied Mathematics as a subject in class 12 are eligible to apply for B.Plan.

  • There are some relaxation for the PWD Candidates.Jee Main NTA will provide an additional time of 1 hour to all the PwD candidates with benchmark disabilities and physical limitations to make them to bring them with the mainstream. Such students have to produce a certificate from the Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution as per proforma given by the authorities for more deatils visit official Nta Website.

JEE Main Admit Card 2020

NTA will release JEE Main 2020 admit card for the April session on its official website in online mode. Candidates can login to download the Admit Card using their application number and password/date of birth. Candidates have to carry their admit card to the exam hall on the day of exam along with a photo identity proof and a passport size photo.

How to Download JEE Main 2020 Admit Card?

  • Go to the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in

  • Click on the section with the link “download JEE Main admit card”

  • Fill the JEE Main 2020 application number and password/date of birth.

  • Click on “Submit”

  • The admit card will be displayed on the screen. Check the details on the admit card.

  • Download the admit card and take a printout for further reference.

Eligibility Criteria JEE Main 2020

The JEE Main eligibility criteria refers all the terms and conditions that aspirants need to fulfill in order to be eligible for the exam.Here, We have highlighted some of the important points below for jee main 2020. To avoid rejection in any stage for jee main 2020 , the students go throughly and understand the eligibility criteria before getting registered for the exam.

Qualifying Exam: Irrespective of the age the applicant , one can qualify if they have cleared their class 12th or any equivalent exam such as a two-year Pre-University exam, senior secondary school examination,Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy exam, Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination, amongst others.

Age Limit: There is no any fixed age limit for candidates who wish to appear for JEE Main 2020 January and April exams. However, candidates must note that the IITs can set age criteria for admissions in the respective age. Year To Appear in the exam : Students should have appeared for the exam in 2019 or 2020. Those who are appearing in their class 12th examination in 2020 or have alreadey appeared in the exam are eligible to appear in January JEE Main 2020 examination.

Criteria For admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs Through Jee Main : The candidate must secure 75% Marks in their class 12 board exams or should be within the top 20 percentile of their respective boards at least one of the mentioned criteria must be satesfied. For reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage required for admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is 65%.

Qualifying Marks For JEE Mains: There is no minimum fixed passing percentage for appearing in JEE Main exam. However, the candidatess must pass their class 12 board or other equivalent examination.

JEE Main 2020 will be held in 233 cities. The centeres where the entrance examination for Jee Main 2020 will be conducted are the respective online exam centres of JEE Main. Candidates have the prefernce to select four cities as per their availability at the respective location while filling the application form.
