What is the Navy SSR and AA?

The Indian Navy is the world’s fifth-largest navy with highly advanced naval warships, missiles, and aircraft careers. Having firm three-dimensional power, equipped for working above, on and under the outside of the seas safeguards our country’s national maritime interest.

The Chief of Indian Navy is a four-star admiral who commands the navy and is called as Chef Naval Staff(CNS). Eligibility Criteria for Recruitment in Indian Navy SSR & AA

Candidates who want to join Indian Navy SSR and AA must fulfil the following eligibility criteria as mentioned below

  • Indian Navy allow only Unmarried male candidates are allowed for the Navy SSR and AA exam
  • Candidates who wish to Join Indian Navy SSR must be passed class 12th with physics and mathematics as the main subjects and at least one of the subject – Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science.
  • The selection of candidates for the post of Navy AA (Artificial Apprentice) takes into consideration the following eligibility conditions – Candidates must be passed Class 12th with physics and mathematics having an aggregate of 60% marks with at least one of these subjects – Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science.

  • Artificial Apprentice (AA) – 500 vacancies
  • Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR)—2200 Vacancies (Approx.)

Total—2700 Vacancies are invited by the Indian Navy for the recruitment of Candidates in SSR and AA.

Application Fee

The application fee for the Indian Navy AA SSR online application form is Rs. 205 and the charge must be paid online through net banking or credit/check card/UPI. While the application fee for the SC and ST candidates free at all. The charge taken from the online application process is nonrefundable. If sometimes if the charge has been deducted in paying the application fee and the process hasn’t been completed, they will discount the charge to the applicants. All this process can take up to 7 working days for execution.

Navy SSR Age Limit

The candidates who are applying for this job need to be unmarried male and the age should be between 17-20 years and should be born between February 1, 2000-January 31, 2003.

Indian Navy SSR & AA Selection Process

It is based on the selection of candidates in Navy SSR and AA on the performance of candidates in the Computer-based written test, physical fitness test, and subsequent medical test. Indian Navy then shows the merit list of the candidates. All the candidates qualify all the above-mentioned selection process have then to go through the final medical and police verification and finally call letter at INS Chilka.  

Indian Navy selects the candidates by the following four recruitment stages

  1. Computer-Based Written Test
  2. Physical Fitness Test
  3. Medical Test of the Candidates
  4. Final Selection or The Merit List

Indian Navy Exam – [Written Test]

 They conduct the written exam for the section of candidates in Navy SSR and AA as a computer-based test (online mode). The syllabus of this exam is fully based on the 10th and 12th standard. Time is very important in this exam because candidates can feel a lack of time during the exam. Solving first the simple question can be the recommended approach. Paper of Navy SSR and AA carries 1 mark for each question and 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer marked.

Candidates can also approach mock test papers before seating for the main online test. The question paper will be fully objective. The total time allowed for the exam is 60 minutes covering an aggregate of 100 marks.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The consequences of the online assessment will be declared approximately 30 days after the written exam. They will provide Navy SSR call letter to nearly 8000 Candidates for PFT and Preliminary Recruitment Medical Examination.

  Following Fitness test comes under the Physical Fitness Test:

  • 1600 meter Run – must be completed within 7 minutes
  • Number of Push-ups—10
  • Number of Squats—20

Indian Navy Salary

Candidates who are selected in Navy SSR and AA go for “basic Training” and professional training at  INS Chilka. As an officer, you will be the responsible position of Indian Navy person. You will learn the management of sophisticated military equipment, steam-powered machinery, diesel and gas turbines, guided missiles, and other automatically controlled weapons.

During the underlying training period, an allowance of Rs. 14,600/ – every month will be allowable as Indian Navy SSR salary. After the successful finish of the beginning training period, candidates will get the salary according to the Level 3 of the Defense Pay Matrix from ₹ 21,700 to ₹69,100 per month as per their post and promotions.

They will pay you  MSP of ₹ 5200/ – every month and the DA (only for Artificer Apprentice AA) of  Rs. 6200/ – every month.
