What is SSC CGL Exam?

The examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC CGL full form) – an organisation under the Government of India to recruit staffs for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India.
SSC CGL exam is conducted every year for Selecting Staff for various Group B and Group C posts in these departments.
The post includes assistant audit officer in Indian audit, and accounts departments under CAG, assistant accounts officer in the accounts departments under CAG, an assistant section officer in central secretariat service, an assistant section officer in intelligence bureau, assistant section officer in Ministry of Railway, assistance section officer in Ministry of External Affairs assistant section and various other departments like HQ, excise, land revenue and CBI, Upper Division Clerk. Exam Details for SSC CGL
Moving to the exam details of SSC CGL, we need to know the exam pattern and marks distribution. The examination is conducted in three tires.
The exam is conducted in 4 stages: Tier1, Tier2, Tier3. Here are some more details on SSC CGL preparation. Tier 1 comprises 75 minutes examination having a hundred questions and total 200 marks for each correct answer. A student scores +2 marks and for each correct answer and an incorrect response, a penalty of -0.5 is given. There is no penalty for not attempted questions. The score obtained as an entire one examination is added as the final score to arrive at the merit list. As suggested by ssc portal below is more details on syllabus.
There are four sections:
- Reasoning
- Quantitative aptitude
- English language
- General awareness
Each section in the series contains 25 questions.
Now coming to the Tier 2 part the syllabus for tier 2 is given below. There are 4 papers conducted in tier 2 exam.
Exam papers are:
- Qualitative abilities – 200 marks for 100 questions
- English Language and Comprehension – 200 marks for 200 questions
- Statistics – 200 marks for 100 questions.
- General studies, finance and economics – 200 marks for the Common Indian History Syllabus.
SSC CGL General Intelligence & Reasoning Analogies
Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3 aren’t considered for selection assistant audit-officer. For Group B Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 4 are considered for selection for its posts.
Tier 3 covers interview. Tier 3 is of 100 marks. It has been inducted which will require candidates to write an essay, precise letter or application in either English or Hindi. There will be no sectional cut-offs in this phase of the exam. An aspirant need to qualify all the three phases. Students of Tier1, Tier2, and Tire 3 is called for data and rescale test or computer proficiency tests.
Essential Qualifications For Various Post
Essential qualifications for assistant audit officer are Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or Institute. Other desirable qualifications for assistant audit officer have Charted accountant or any of this management accountant, company secretary, masters in commerce, Masters in Business Studies, Business Administration, Business Economics.
Educational qualification for statistical investigator Grade 2 should be a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized a university or Institute with at least sixty personation mathematics at 12th standard level.
The other criteria is a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level educational qualification for compiler basic degree from any recognized University with economics or statistics.
All other posts have the same requirements but any but a degree from a recognized University or equivalent maximum age limit for Group B is thirty years maximum age limit of Group C post is 27 years.

SSC CGL Salary
SSC has categorized posts based on grade pay. For the post for Group C post, the enhanced salary ranges from 25,000 to 35,000 as per the department and city where you get posted. For Group B post enhance
salary ranges from 42,000 to 55,000 you will get a clear idea from SSC official notification.
